Taking part

Can I join?

There are lots of criteria to meet if you want to join the CRIMSON Study. The most important ones are:

    • You are over the age of 18.
    • You have diabetes and are receiving regular treatment.
    • You have been diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy.

If you meet these criteria, take the pre-screener. If your answers to the pre‑screener show that you may be able to take part, please contact your nearest study center. At the study center, you will discuss the study in detail and find out whether you can take part.

What is informed consent?

Prior to taking part in the study, you must agree to and sign an Informed Consent Form, or ICF. This document explains the study in detail, including potential risks and benefits, as well as your rights and responsibilities.

Is the CRIMSON Study right for me?

Taking part in clinical research requires careful thought. We suggest talking it through with your family, friends or regular doctor. Before you decide whether to take part, make sure that you understand any potential risks involved. There is no guarantee that you will benefit from taking part in this study.

And remember, clinical studies are voluntary. You are free to leave at any time and for any reason, with no penalty to you.

If you can join there will be no charge for the study medications or the study-related visits, procedures and assessments.
